Overview:
Adaptivestack Technologies Inc. is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer (Integration) to support the Business Intelligence Services Line (BISL) Support Services program within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
At Adaptivestack Technologies, a Senior Software Engineer must be able to create logical and functional software code in a variety of languages. Must have experience in understanding and articulating the benefits and risks associated with different coding languages in different functional environments. Must have experience reacting to problems and correcting the program as necessary.
A Senior Software Engineer designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications/operating systems. Also, coordinates Agile work teams. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. May report to an executive or a manager.
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in area of specialty and at least 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education. The candidate must demonstrate expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. In addition to this effort, they are required to provide consultation on complex projects and may be considered to be the top level contributor/specialist.
For this position, you will be supporting the VA in its efforts to provide software development, software development testing support, prototyping support, warranty support, user training support, and transition support for the Business Intelligence Services Line (BISL) software products.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree required, AND a minimum of 8 years’ equivalent work experience. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
8 years’ experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile Methodologies, including Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Scrum/Kanban/XP.
Agile principles such as Continuous Integration (CI), Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Delivery (CD) and DevOps.
Modern programming languages such as Java, C#, .NET, JavaScript, Ruby and Python.
Extensive use of Unified Modeling Language (UML).
8 years’ experience with large-scale enterprise environments where real-time monitoring of critical infrastructure is fundamental to operations and compliance.
8 years’ hands-on experience using monitoring tools to identify, isolate, troubleshoot and resolve application, system and network problems.
Technical troubleshooting and performance tuning experience. Strong data analysis skills.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite required, including MS Visio.
Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong aptitude to learn and adapt to technology.
Ability to adapt well to diverse environments.
Ability to communicate clearly with all levels in an organization.
Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in dynamic team environment.
